On Saturday, June 20th, Charles Drew Health Center presented its annual Earn-A-Bike program, to the community.Charles Drew Health Center will be giving away 200 new bikes, helmets and locks to children within the North Omaha community over the next 3 months.Friday, June 20th, 2014 @ PM The Brothers of Chi Omicron Chapter and Epsilon Iota Iota Chapter in conjunction with the American Red Cross and The Edge Fitness hosted a blood drive on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 aimed at increasing awareness of the need for blood donors overall, and specifically in the African American community.

Charles Drew University is a private university located in Willowbrook, California in the Los Angeles Area.

It is a small institution with an enrollment of 114 undergraduate students.

I have attached a snapshot of Charles Drew Elementary (closed last year) as a demonstration.

The city skyline is visible from the playground which is situated on the edge of UPenn and Drexel campuses in an area with increasing residential real estate values.I invite you to visit our site regularly for information on our ongoing events and activities.Our goal is to provide you with the most up to date material that captures the essence of our organization’s four cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift...After weeks of telling me that it was just a rock, my parents took me to the Detroit Science Museum, where I learned that dinosaur fossils are absent from our area.While I was disappointed to discover that my “fossil” was just a rock, this experience helped me to realize what I wanted to be when I grew up — a scientist.If he couldn’t get home, and many nights he could not, I would read one of the stories on my own and tell him about it the next morning as he drove me to school. It was at this point that I made the connection between science and medicine. Drew was a hero and that I could make a difference and help others through science. Drew could succeed while struggling against the bonds of racism and poverty in the Jim Crow era, then I too could succeed. However, as I grew older and began to tackle the many obstacles in my way, it was not the memory of my childhood heroes that I called upon to motivate myself but the memories of my parents.I began to emulate him, and I even dressed up as him for Halloween one year. What my father did not realize was that he did not need to look far to find me role models, because I had them all along in him and my more "The tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. Walker and how she became the first black female millionaire due to her hair tonics and creams; Garret Morgan, who invented the modern traffic signal and the gas mask; and Daniel Hale Williams, who performed the first successful open-heart surgery. His research in the field of blood transfusion resulted in improved techniques for blood storage and led to the development of blood banks that saved thousands of lives during World War II.
